      <description>This should be close: &lt;BR /&gt;kermit &lt;BR /&gt;set line /dev/ttyd0p7 &lt;BR /&gt;set speed 19200 (or 9600) &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You then can try 2 different approaches &lt;BR /&gt;set modem hayes (kermit is old so not that many modem types are defined) &lt;BR /&gt;DIAL 5551212 &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;OR &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;connect &lt;BR /&gt;ATDT5551212 &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;was a previous response to why a modem will not initalize when using kermit, I have done the above in my script yet it still not initalizing.&lt;BR /&gt;It works other wise just not in the kermit script.</description>

      <description>Eric&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The port your using looks like the normal predictive port !! -  are you trying to use the predictive modem - if so speed is too high.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Also once connected in kermit try an AT command.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Paula</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;When your are in Kermit , if you type 'at'&lt;BR /&gt;you should be getting OK prompt that means your modem is responding. &lt;BR /&gt;if you are using hayes modem at&amp;amp;v should give the modem configuration list.&lt;BR /&gt;try atq0 and then dial with atdt followed by number&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Goodluck,&lt;BR /&gt;USA..</description>
