C compiler cannot create executables

Hello,

when I compile a source I get the following error message:
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot create executables.

I work under HP-UX 11.00 (GR Patches March 2000)

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Which Compiler do you use and which specific compiler patches do you have installed? Run what cc, which cc, what c, which c. For different aCC, you need diferent level of patches. Come back with details.

I work with the cc compiler. how can I check the version ? I only have the GR Patches installt. Which patches are for the cc-compiler ?

cc is the HP-UX C complier(which require ANSI C complier software). To check version use "-V" option while compiling a program. Also "swlist -l product/fileset" will give you details about the compiler and versions.
Now regarding the installation and configuration problem you may have to reinstall the c complier. Also go the below link and look out for any C compiler patches.

I'm very sorry but I cannot access the patch-site. error: Could Not View or Download Patch Your request cannot be carried out due to an invalid parameter entry. (Error 7232). Could you send me the list of patches manually ? And when I type cc -V I don't get any result.

what /usr/bin/cc
or
what /usr/ccs/lbin/ccom
