      <description>i have 2 hp 9000 d-370 server,server in installed hp-unix 10.20,problem is one server sam in tape drive show c1537a 4gb dds3 description and other server in c1537a 12gb dds3 description.problem is one server in tape show 4gb dds3.I take a backup in two server but problem is i have restore backup from one server to other server not take a bakup.pl guide me  and i have attached one file for eaxctly what problem</description>

      <description>All DDS3 tape drives are capable of writing 12GB of data to the tape. But if you use DDS2 or DDS1 tapes, then drive will write only in the tape's usable format (DDS2=4GB, DDS1=2GB). It is not recommended to use smaller capacity tapes. Use DDS3 tapes.</description>

      <description>&lt;BR /&gt;I don't know if this helps at all. If I recall:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;DDS1 is a  90m tape&lt;BR /&gt;DDS2 is a 120m tape&lt;BR /&gt;DDS3 is a 125m tape&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Ken is correct for tape lengths. The recording format is different for each tape. That's why the tape drive can identify the media and will reject an unsupported tape (such as DDS4, DDS5, etc).
