Need to re-install rp8400 with hp-ux 11.0

Hi, I want to reinstall rp8400 with hp-ux 11.0, the steps have tried is
1] loged in to mp console using Admin
2] In console i have gone to 'CO'
3] Selected partetion to boot
4] Once partetion is booted i have given SEArch for searching boot device. It detected my DVD Drive as sequantial access media.
5] Next i have entered "BO P1" were P1 is my DVD drive

But it will not boot from DVD drive it will say

Initial access to boot device failed.
IODC entry_init failed error status: -8 and
IODC entry_init failed error status: -2.

Please help me .
What would be wrong?.

could be a problem with the DVD media or DVD Rom, can you check that

Sequential devices are tapes, not DVDs.

Please post the "sea all" results.

Hmm, something in the back of my mind is ringing a bell, that the rp8400 was only supported as of HP-UX 11.11

A normal "sea" will search the core cell only, but a

Main Menu: Enter command or menu > sea all

will search the whole nPar.

Default pathes are

0/0/0/2/1.2.0
and
1/0/0/2/1.2.0

I'm afraid "this dog is not going to hunt."

rp8400 is a nPar-capable server. That means it uses a chipset that was never officially supported in HP-UX 11.00.

This is not too surprising, as the nPar support was one of the big enhancements of 11.11 after all.

www.openpa.net has a list of server and workstation models supported by 11.00. It even includes "officially unsupported but working" ones. The rp8400 is not there.

11i means here 11.11 and later.

Please tell me how do i enable dvd drive for booting since it is not listing if i give SEA All also.

Dear All,

I have realized that my sequantial access media is nothing but my tepe drive. I was having one recovery ignite tape, using that i am able to boot and install my machine. but after installation machine is comming to

(bcheckrc)#

And it says that unable to mount my /scratch volume.

What could be wrong? Please help.

I don't see any use of installing 11.00 on RP8400 when it is officially unsupported on this h/w platform.
