HI Gurus,

I am planning to perform patching in one of my itanium server, in which LVs and disks are controlled by VXVM. I have done lvsplit/merge in the LVM controlled LVs, but am not sure how to perform lvsplit/merge in VXVM. Can any of you help me out with the procedure.

Thanks in Advance...

i think you are referring to breaking root disk mirror under veritas volume manager.

if so

remove root mirror from veritas control just invoke vxdiskadm -- select option 4 (remove a disk for replacement

once you are done with patching and want to put back mirror disk back in config

slect option 5 -- replace failed/removed disk

if above is not applicable , please provide output of vxprint -ht

Javed
