how can i send a printer test from unix?

the printer is called PRINTER1
the printerqueue already was created ...

use the lp command
lp -d filename

the printing is there:

$ lpstat PRINTER1
PRINTER1-436 user1 priority 0 Dec 11 14:19 on PRINTER1 test_file.txt 38 bytes
$

It means that the print job is still waiting. Troubleshooting this will first require knowing how the printer is connected -- What version of HP-UX are you using? Are you using a JetDirect interface and hppi to configure the printer. Or did you add the printer as a remote printer using some other system to print for you?
