Dear All,

Our HP box version is 11.11

Now, if i install a bundle of patches of 11.23 version will it my HP machine changes to 11.23 version ?

or also changes even if i install a single patch of 11.23.

Hi Swetha,

It is NEVER recommended even to try to install a patch of different OS version. You never know what will happen to your server.

Well, it is better, easy and time saving to do a fresh/cold installation instead of going for update.

Hi Swetha,

Patching and updating, both are different things.

You have to install patch of the same OS version in your server. Patch of different OS version is not recommended. and patching does not update your server to a higher level and can damage things on your current server.

Updating OS, you can do using cold-install(recommended way) or using update-ux utility. You can find many docs on HP site to update the OS.
