Migration of User Accounts from 11.23 to 11.31

Hi Experts,

We are migrating from 11.23 to 11.31 VSE and now the senario is that i want to migrate all the user accounts from 11.23 to 11.31.

1. On 11.23 we have a trusted system.

Could you please advice a way to achive without hampering the 11.23 system?

Shalom,

Take the /etc/passwd, /etc/group and tar up the /tcb files.

Transfer them to the new system.

copy the entries for users and group to be migrated to the same locations as on 11.23.

This should work. I've done it a number of times.

Thanks for the reply, but there is no /tcb directory anymore on 11.31 versions.

Have a look at the link below.Now my aim is to have same useraccounts on the 11.31 machines.

Take a look at this thread...

The underlying principal is to ALWAYS use the standard commands when setting up user accounts. This more or less guarantees the correct outcome, no matter how the OS manages the underlying processes and data.
