    <description>Horia,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I already read and tried it at problem server. The passwd is okay. the password&lt;BR /&gt;map was propagated to the NIS client. this is weird for me since my id also part of thise NIS but i can login without problem. The different between me and the user is they are samba user and im not.</description>

      <description>Hi Expert,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Im not really well in HPUX. But here my problem.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;My server hpux (B.11.11) is configured with samba. Right now user having problem to login into server from windows client and it is not accepting their current windows credentials. Also when they tried to telnet to the unix server, it accepts the password (UNIX Password) but it hanged before they could get the command prompt as shown below:&lt;BR /&gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;Open Source Software has been installed on this system.  See&lt;BR /&gt;/opt/OpenSource/etc/copyright&lt;BR /&gt;mail: permission denied!&lt;BR /&gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Is there anybody expert on why this happen?</description>

It not use NFS.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I already go to home user at NIS master and there is no history file. May i know, what ur suggestion.</description>

      <description>This kind of problems are usually hard to debug. I would try to understand what have changed and where the changes were made.  Go through the NIS server and NIS client 's logs and try to find out any unusual problems reported in the near past. Reboot the NIS client if possible or at least restart the NIS client's daemons /sbin/init.d/nis.client stop/start )&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Horia. &lt;BR /&gt;</description>
