AFAIK -> no pre-requirements required, I would better if you get Installation (SW & configuration procedure from UPS Vendor)

Hope you will be using (APC) ..?

http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1104694&admit=109447626+1269847287336+28353475

Johnson,

Do you have any idea, this PowerChute directly calls the shutdown of the machine.
I was much worry about the applications before shutdown [Cluster package, database etc].

For the shutdown of the applications we manually have to create a script right?

>>PowerChute directly calls the shutdown of the machine.<<

Yes, It will monitor,if found any problem "it immd ..will call the shutdown, in order to graceful full shutdown, that purpose to avoid any sudden "power failure" will cause server to panic.

if you have configured your cluster (pkg fail over policy are correct), you no need to worry, Once the shut down command has been called, pkg's should successfully fail over to fail over node.(adoptive node)
