    <description>Shalom,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Check the existence of the following file:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/etc/syslog.conf&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Make sure its not been changed. If its missing in action, copy it in from another system.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;There should be an error message in /etc/rc.log if the system has been  booted in this condition.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP</description>

      <description>Syslog message not updated in /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log. Kindly find the below output&lt;BR /&gt;[rajesh@Prod2]$ps -ef |grep syslogd&lt;BR /&gt;rajesh 28633 28617  0 18:42:51 pts/3     0:00 grep syslogd&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1.we also restarted  the syslogd  process .but still syslog message not updated.&lt;BR /&gt;Command&lt;BR /&gt;/sbin/init.d/syslogd stop&lt;BR /&gt;/sbin/init.d/syslogd start&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Since you have restarted the 'syslogd' daemon to no avail, I suspect that you modified '/etc/syslog.conf'.  The selector/action pairs in '/etc/syslog.conf' use *tabs* as separator characters, not spaces. A post of:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# cat -etv /etc/syslog.conf'&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;...will reveal this if that's the reason.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;...JRF...&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
