I believe that 11.23 has a patch to support this where 11.31 has this builtin.

You need to read the cautions very carefully because not all applications will work in you have longer host names.
See these threads:
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1245677
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=780160
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1308618
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1315555
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=864687
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=849835
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1019029
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1210536
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1016907
