replacing loadable kernel module

Hello,

we upgraded a server from 11.23 to 11.31.
After the upgrade everything looked fine, except for the mvfs loadable kernel module.
Which still points to the old module

#/usr/sbin/kcmodule -b yes mvfs=loaded
ERROR: The module 'mvfs' depends on the interface 'HPUX_11_23',
version 1.0, which is not supplied by any available kernel
module.

Can someone explain to me, how to change it to the 11.31 module

I'm quite sure you need to update an application (clearcase?).

I agree with Torsten.

The "mvfs" kernel module is probably MultiVersion File System, and it belongs to IBM's ClearCase product:

You should check IBM's ClearCase documentation for upgrade instructions, and probably contact IBM for getting the new version.

You are going to have to install the 11.31 version of clearcase. Also make sure you install any required versions of kernel patches for MVFS.
