    <description>With HP-UX 11.0, just use sam &amp;gt; kernel config and add the stape driver, generate a new kernel and reboot.  Then run "ioscan -fnCtape" and your drives should appear.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Pete</description>

      <description>I need install the type drive in HP-ux. I found the doc that help the i configure. &lt;BR /&gt;i checked in this step:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/usr/sbin/kmsystem -S /stand/build/system -c Y driver-name&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;In DRIVER-NAME, i use any name, has to be specific to type: &lt;BR /&gt;ex: &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/usr/sbin/kmsystem -S /stand/build/system -c Y HPXXXXX</description>

      <description>It appears you are talking about a DDS TAPE drive.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If that is the case, then you need to install the tape2 and/or stape drivers.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>This is a DDS1 drive - must be around 15 years old...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Normally the tape drivers are claimed by "stape" driver, so install the module&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# kcmodule stape=static&lt;BR /&gt;NOTE:    The configuration being loaded contains the following change(s)&lt;BR /&gt;         that cannot be applied immediately and which will be held for&lt;BR /&gt;         the next boot:&lt;BR /&gt;      -- The configuration is supposed to include a module 'stape' which&lt;BR /&gt;         is not available without a kernel rebuild.&lt;BR /&gt;WARNING: The automatic 'backup' configuration currently contains the&lt;BR /&gt;         configuration that was in use before the last reboot of this&lt;BR /&gt;         system.&lt;BR /&gt;     ==&amp;gt; Do you wish to update it to contain the current configuration&lt;BR /&gt;         before making the requested change? y&lt;BR /&gt;       * The automatic 'backup' configuration has been updated.&lt;BR /&gt;       * Building a new kernel for configuration 'nextboot'...&lt;BR /&gt;       * Adding version information to new kernel...&lt;BR /&gt;       * The requested changes have been saved, and will take effect at&lt;BR /&gt;         next boot.&lt;BR /&gt;Module               State   Cause     &lt;BR /&gt;stape   (now)        unused            &lt;BR /&gt;        (next boot)  static  explicit  &lt;BR /&gt;#&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;... but somehow I doubt this will work.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What server model do you have?</description>
