According to Egyptian Government, DST rules should be applied as followed :

* last thursday of september
11:59:59PM EEST => 11:00:00PM EET

* last thursday of april
11:59:59PM EET => 1:00:00AM EEST on friday

I tried to configured tztab (cannot find HP patch for this) :
EET-2EEST
59 11 24-30 4 2010-2038 4 EETST-3
59 11 24-30 9 2010-2038 4 EET-2

But it does not match exactly (changing at 11:59:00PM instead of 11:59:59PM)

Any idea, as DST changing just occurs at midnight ??

Rgd

Hello
I hope you find your proper DST file .
But note that without the pre-defined file , you can config the box to have your own TZ.
it would be "set_parms timezone" tool, which interactively create and configure TZ .(and it needs reboot) .
further info can be posted if you want.

>I tried to configured tztab (cannot find HP patch for this):

Have you contacted HP to make an official patch for that? Do you have an official Egyptian document that supports this? See:
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1260910

>EET-2EEST
>59 11 24-30 4 2010-2038 4 EETST-3
>59 11 24-30 9 2010-2038 4 EET-2

As Borislav almost had:
EET-2EEST
00 01 24-30 4 2010-2038 4 EEST-3
00 11 24-30 9 2010-2038 4 EET-2

After you have made these changes, you should check them with Clay's dst.pl, since you cross over midnight and may be off by one:
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1165833

Also, you'll need entries for previous years.

>I tried to configured tztab (cannot find HP patch for this):

It looks like I already answered this question in June 2008 but with a slightly different TZ name. Note corrections in the day of week and time of day:
EGT-2EGTDST
00 01 24-30 4 2004-2038 5 EGTDST-3
00 23 24-30 9 2004-2006 4 EGT-2
00 23 01-07 9 2007 4 EGT-2
00 23 24-30 8 2008 4 EGT-2
00 23 24-30 9 2009-2038 4 EGT-2

http://forums.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1240321
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1337502
