x-windows login issue

hi guys,

iam using hp-ux 11.0 and when i try and login with my sysadm account at x-windows ..it will login half way then log off in a blink.

The root account works fine, its only all other accounts except for root.

any ideas on what i should check ?

Hi,
I experienced an event like this before.
First , do you have an access problem with telnet programs like in Windows DOS OR putty tools ?

if yes, you have to suspect on network issue, like a problem in routers OR your gateway (in my problem solved by changing gateway IP in routing locally)

if your answer is no, then stop start X-Windows and clear logs will be a solution, by the way what sort of X-window application do you use ??

it only does this in x-windows login prompt .. not via telnet etc.

and its all logins except for root.

i will try and change the gateway setting and see what happens .. but iam not hopefull that will work.

Did you face this problem before ? Your X-Windows application was working normally before that ?
Besides, As I ask before which x-windows application do you use ?
Did you restart the process/daemon that belongs to X-windows ?
