Hi there,
i'm using a Visualize C200 with hpux 11.0 64bit OS.
After some days that my ws is on (i mean no reboot), i have the following error while i try to open any window like terminal or sam or mail....
Action: Terminal [Error]
An attempt to start a new process on host "gehp180" failed.
To continue, you may need to stop an unneeded process on this host.
The only way i've found to solve (and of course it isn't the right way) is to turn power off from botton and restart!!
This error that i have is locally. When i try to telnet i have:
HPUX gehp180 B.11.00 A 9000/782 (ta)
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Call to mmap<> failed - ZEROES /usr/lib/libnsl.1
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Not enough space

Connection to host lost.

I repeat you that every week i have this error and the strange thing is that this ws don't have many processes on because no one is using it instead of me and i just use it to connect to other systems. Only samba is running always (and not very well because i'm trying to configure it without so much success!!).
So please help me, is there any patch or something to do?

I'd suggest increasing your swap space as these errors are usually indicative of inadequate swap. You can check
swap using swapinfo(1M).

Next time the problem occurs I suggest you toc the box, that way you may produce a core dump that can be analysed to get more detailed info on what's going on : see KBRC00003021 for some general pointers.

Lastly it maybe worth your while keeping an eye on memory management , swap & processes using glance in case you can spot a slow utilising of swap by a process over a period of days.
