how to diable sendmail while booting

Hi Team

I have rx2660 box being installed hpux v3. This is getting delay to boot and being stuck in the sendmail starting.

Also, SAM also doesn't load . Both were happened same time due to some bad configuration.

Hence, please let me know where can be the issue is?

Also, let me know how to disable sendmail permanently while it is booting.

Hi,

Change the sendmail startup variables to 0 in file "/etc/rc.config.d/mailservs". I.e.:

export SENDMAIL_SERVER=0

Maybe you have some bad configured hostname or network settings in "/etc/rc.config.d/netconf".

edit the file

/etc/rc.config.d/mailserv

change the parameter from 1 to 0

export SENDMAIL_SERVER=1

it will not start the sendmail after boot.

it is delay to load ip vesrion 6 service too. how to disable this service too.

Disable it in:

/etc/rc.config.d/netconf-ipv6

There is no SAM in 11.31.

It is replaced by SMH.

Point your browser to the server at port 2301.

You are correct. Once we type "sam" on the command mode, it loads the SMH. but it is not loaded due to some issue.

As said, point your browser to the servers port 2301!

Maybe all your problems have one in common, a bad network configuration or name resolution.

Check this please.

If the server has a bad network configuration, pointing a browser at port 2301 on the server may prove problematic. Yes, one might be able to work around that by using the remote VGA console and a local browser but if name resolution is fubar it may still be "difficult."
