Hi,

We have RX 6600 server running HP-UX 11.31 and one virtual server(HPVM) has been hosted on the server. The Problem is that on some occassions the virtual host is not available over the network. When we checked in the logs we found the message as below

Feb 14 05:43:11 <SERVERNAME>rpcbind: svc_getreqset: No transport handle for fd 257

Feb 14 05:47:11 <SERVENAME> vmunix: ipmi_wd_heartbeat(): timer not refreshed.

The server is up for 200 days..

Can you please help us to resolve this issue
</SERVENAME></SERVERNAME>

You have a host and a guest. Which machine can't be contacted? Which is up 200 days, both?
And it can't be contacted from some third machine?

Hi,

Regarding your ipmi_wd_heartbeat message:
Feb 14 05:47:11 <SERVENAME> vmunix: ipmi_wd_heartbeat(): timer not refreshed.

This could be related to a known BMC firmware issue:

"Corrected an issue where the bus that handles transactions between the Operating System and the BMC may appear to hang. The Event Monitoring Service (EMS) in HP-UX uses this bus to get system event log information from the BMC, upon this issue EMS may report the following message in the syslog: vmunix: ipmi_wd_heartbeat(): timer not refreshed."

Source: http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c00908055

sangilak</SERVENAME>
