I guess you are doing an ignite backup.

You either have an old VG definition for a removed VG still on the server or the disk is dead.

Check with ioscan and vgdisplay.

I use it to take a system recovery tape, to restore the system configurations in case of any system crashes.

These are the details it shows at the end

NOTE: The following files are in the list of files that were on the
system, but they are no longer present. These files are not
included in the backup:
/var/tmp/ign_configure/make_sys_image.log

* Archive created and rewind the tape to beginning of tape.

The DVD is not there.

Please check if it is listed in /etc/fstab and remove, if present.

are you taking backup on DVD or from DVD?

The system try to touch it, probably because it is listed in fstab.

Remove the entry, check the drive or remove the device file of the dvd.
