HPUX 11.31 connecting with EMC CLARiiON

We are upgrading rx6600 server from HPUX 11.23 to 11.31. The server is connected to EMC CLARiiON CX3-20. Would the 11.31 Native Multipath work with EMC CLARiiON? Is there anything we need to do to make it work?

We have other HPUX 11.31 servers connected to EMC Symmetrix, which we need to enable a couple of HBA flags to make the Native Multipath work, not sure if we need to do similar things to connect to CLARiiON.

Asif, I'm not sure why you posted that, as the question was can a CLARiiON work with native multi-pathing - not with PowerPath.

Anyway, the answer is yes - as long as you are on at least FLARE26 on your CLARiiON. You have to make sure that "host mode 4" is selected for the LUNs presented to 11iv3.

Download the latest emc support matrix pdf file, from the emc support site.

http://www.emc.com/products/interoperability/index.htm

The file, will contain all possible requirements needed, to get the 11.31 native multipathing working, for youre specific environment.
