As others have indicated, this is a disk off an EVA (HSV300 is the product name of the EVA controller). If you want to know _which_ vdisk this is off an EVA, then get a copy of "evainfo" - that will show you the WWN of each vdisk presented to the host which can then be matched up against what you see in Command View EVA. There is usually a copy of evainfo for HP-UX on the Command View EVA installation disk (or you can search hp.com for a copy)

HTH

Duncan

Thanks for your answers guys.

But just came to know from the Remotre Datacenter Operation guy that it is a MSA Storage connected through Fibre Channel Switch to my Blade Server.

Now I have another question. IF I get login to this MSA Storage how can i verify that the disks created in this MSA box are used in which Server..

Because i see all the disks/luns in this MSA Storage are seen from all my 8 Bade Servers. How can i distinguish which disks/luns are free now.. because as far as this storage is concerened i will not have ny tools like evainfo or xpinfo to cross check the data from my server and Storage .

Please help on this.Any links will be appreciated.

a) Its easier to get this kind of information using 'ioscan -funC disk':

ctl 40 0/6/0/0.39.28.0.0.0.0 sctl CLAIMED DEVICE HP HSV300 /dev/rscsi/c10t0d0
disk 46 0/6/0/0.39.28.0.0.0.2 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP HSV300 /dev/dsk/c10t0d2
/dev/rdsk/c10t0d2

b) Unfortunately, but just like any electronic product, to get more information you have to physically inspect the back of the drive and read of the s/n and product number from the manufacturer's stamp.

c) Or, you can use CSTM.

echo 'map;selclass type disk;info;infolog'|cstm|egrep -i 'serial|disk|number'

-or-

print "selclass type disk;info;wait;infolog" | /usr/sbin/cstm

Product Number.......: AG637A

d) Cross reference by product number with HP Part Surfer

http://partsurfer.hp.com/search.aspx

e) MSA Smart Arrays are for Windows and Linux boxes - They run on HP C- Class

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13551_na/13551_na.htmlservers.

Product Number : 218231-B21
Description : MSA 1000 CONTROLLER ALL

I'm not sure if you have your "problem" with this EVA or with an MSA (MSA2000?).

Are all systems in question run hp-ux?

Please clarify!

Just in case of a MSA2000 (G3?) - with a wrong mapping you present each LUN to each server - did you do this? Check from SMU!
