superseding patch

When I get something like this:

WARNING: Patch PHKL_27096 is not installed on this server.
Please install PHKL_27096 or verify that it's superseding
patch is installed BEFORE installing Secure Path.

How do I verify that it's superseding patch is installed?

Hi Ross,

Unless you know the name of the patch in question its a manual check I'm afraid. Go to the patch database :

http://www4.itrc.hp.com/service/patch/search.do?pageContextName=hpux:::

Enter the details here, i.e. 11i, search by patch id and put the patch name in. Click on the latest patch for full details of it and any superseded patches.

#swlist -v -l fileset|grep PHKL_27096
