Installing webmin on hpux version B.11.11.
After replying to all the questions i get
Copying files to /usr/local/webmin ..
tar: couldn't get uname for uid 3001
tar: couldn't get uname for uid 3001
and this loops ad infinitum.

Try installing webmin as root.
Set all files in directory to root.
This should work

Are you sure it's in a loop? tar tvf the tarball to see how many files are included.

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=145193 says the message is a warning and states to use chown to correct the invalid uid.
