sudo - fatal flex scanner internal error

Does anyone know what causes the following error when entering a sudo command?
"fatal flex scanner internal error--end of buffer missed"
The /etc/sudoers file is quite large and shared by multiple systems.

This is a third party software but I suspect you have not enough swap or your maxdsiz is small

There are several documents from this search that hint at this error being a DNS/nslookup problem.

I'd contact the author of sudo and see if there is some known issue with how sudo handles name resolution.

sudoers file was is shared with AIX systems that has syntax not compatable with HP's sudo.
