how to insert line numbres in the edited file.
using vi editor.I mean if the file is big and I want to give number to each line.So that I can go to the perticular line no.

do the following.

vi
press ESC key
then type ":se nu"

and if u wanna go to a particular line,
press ESC key
type ":
