    <description>i too came to know that pid 8 is for suspched but i cannot boot it in single user mode too.when i got to single user mode it starts the same scrolling process and doesnt stop.what is the problem?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;regards&lt;BR /&gt;mangesh</description>

      <description>Hi &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;my w/s i appollo 700 series.whenever it starts it boots from the disk and immediately "PID 8 CANNOT BE CLEARED " ERROR AND KEEPS ON SCROLLING.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;os= hpux 10&lt;BR /&gt;pls guide&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;regaqrds&lt;BR /&gt;Mangesh</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;is the the OS or database startup?&lt;BR /&gt;Just asking as in HPUX--&amp;gt;databases&lt;BR /&gt;If it is the OS, have you tried the recovery CD?&lt;BR /&gt;Regards</description>

      <description>Pid 8 on the three systems I've checked is supsched. If that helps. (the UP Streams scheduler)</description>
