    <description>In your /etc/inetd.conf entry for ftpd, did you add the "-a" argument so that ftpd will use the configuration file? After setting this flag, you must then do an "inetd -c" to force a reread on the file.</description>

      <title>FTP Banner Problem</title>

      <description>Friends,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;My ftp banner is no getting set.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Telnet banner is set with /etc/issue.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/etc/ftpd/ftpaccess contains a line banner /etc/issue&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I am not able to see the ftp banner in the new servers.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; Few of the old servers are having the same entry and its able to display the ftp banner.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; Last time I had the same problem and some how I could solve it.       <description>I think that line in /etc/ftpd/ftpaccess should read:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;banner=/etc/issue&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Don't forget the '='</description>
