topic 2 Ignite UX servers in Operating System - HP-UX

Hi Everybody,

Our lab has around 450 HP servers (both PA & Itanium). And we have 1 Ignite server. I am thinking of setting up another server in the same subnet.

My question is can we have 2 Ignite UX servers on the same subnet? What do i need to take care of in this scenario?

Thanks in advance,

Hi you can have to ignite servers.
If the have both a different ip-address it's no problem. Only one thing if the subnet is gone you don't have any ignite server.
Its better to set it up in a different subnet for more availibilty of a ignite server.

grtz.
If you do ignite backup's over the network don't do them at the sam time. nothing more.
it's save to have 2 ignite servers in the same subnet the don't bite each other.
I have also 2 ignite servers in the same subnet and everything works fine.

Hi Suraj,

Yes, we can have two ignite servers within the same subnet without any problems. But you can not assign all the clients to both servers at the same time.

Also you have one option in the ignite console of the ignite server for replicating server. Just have a look at it.

HTH,
Devender
