I have been trying to fix a problem.
The kernal will not compile when trying to change maxdsize and maxdsize. Need to increase because trying to install Oracle 9i.
Atteched you will see the kind of error we get.
Thought it was a problem with patch PHKL_18453. Many posting about this being a patch from hell.
Seams to be a problem trying to recreate the kernel after any that recreated the kernel.
Most fixes say to re-install the OS. I would like another option if possible.
Error message is the same if changing the kernel settings or installing patches.

Any help on this? Server is an rp2450 with HP-UX 11.0
Marty

PHKL_18543 is s700_800 11.00 PM/VM/UFS/async/scsi/io/DMAPI/JFS/perf patch

Sorry for the typo.
PHKL_18543 had an error back in 2003 that was never resolved. It just came back to bite me.
Our VAR is installing the Oracle to upgrade out ERP system. The thought was that the new QPK1100(Mar 2004) would fix the problem.
I am using swinstall from the command line. No X available. I thought it was a 64bit server. What is the command to tell?
Marty
Please try running /usr/contrib/bin/check_patches. Make sure you have PHCO_27779 installed (it fixes some bugs in check_patches).

Check_patches will tell you what patches are corrupted. You can then reinstall these patches with '-x reinstall=true' swinstall option. Do not reinstall Line in the sand patch (PHKL_18543).
