Gary,

Is the software an HP software bundle, or is it third party. If its third party it won't show up, if it is HP software, you may need to look it up by the part number

Hello,

we have installed BroadVision as web application server and SeeBeyond eGate as middle ware in one of our hpux 11.0 box. When I ran a swlist, I cannot see anything about the SeeBeyond stuffs, all BroadVision stuff shows up in the 'Products not contained in a bundle' part.

I don't know why swlist didn't pick up SeeBeyond eGate. The software I installed is up and running, just doesn't show up in the swlist output. Any idea?

Thanks!

Did you use swinstall? swlist only shows those filesets/products/bundles/etc. that were installed with swinstall. Our Oracle doesn't show up with swlist, either.

Hope this helps
Chris

How was the product installed? If it was not in a depot form and installed via swinstall, then chances are that it won't show up in swlist output.
Hi
swlist shows only the software ( products/bundles/patches ) that is installed using swinstall. If the software is installed in some other way it will not be shown by swlist.
All the third party software is generally stored in /opt, you can check it in the directory for it.

Hope this helps
...BPK...

Gary,

I have the SeeBeyond software running on my boxes as well and I can tell you that it doesn't use an HP software depot for its install. It uses its own series of scripts for its install and as such it never registers any of its components with swinstall. That is the reason that you do not see it showing up in your swlist. I hope that this helps.

Regards,
Jason V.

Hi,

Unless the software is installed from a HP
depot file using 'swinstall' it WILL not
show up in a 'swlist' output.

-Michael

Thanks all,

Yes, SeeBeyond was installed using it's private scripts instead of swinstall, that's why it didn't show up in swlist, it's clear now.

Thanks again!
Gary
