Backup Error

Hi,

We have been facing an error in a backup. The error reads as below

Sep 21 07:19:48 2005: Open Server Error: 16240.10.0: Net-Library routine net_lis
ten() failed in srv__start_net
Network error: status = 23 - Net-Lib protocol driver call to register a listener failed
.
Sep 21 07:19:48 2005: Open Server Server Fatal Error: 16029.20.0: Failed to start any network listeners

Can anybody tel us what this mean and where to look into exactly?

If this is Veritas(Symantec) netbackup, see if the services are running on both machines and see that network connectivity has not failed.

It would be helpful if you specified the product set and operating systems in this query.

Sunil,

It seems like a server service is not running. You need to start the service in order to proceed further.

Hi Steven,

The OS is HP-UX 11.0 and database is Sybase. When I searched this syntax, i came to know that it means "Network port already in use.". So I just want to know how to go ahead.

Still searching for the solution
