    <description>Hi:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;It is extremely difficult to increase /stand.  Too, it would appear that you don't have any free physical disk extents in your root volume group to satisfy your needs.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I would urge you to create an Ignite 'make_tape_recovery' and reinstall your operating system environement from that.  This will give you the ability to resize each logical volume to your taste.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I suggest that you create a relatively small primary swap space (e.g perhaps only 1GB) on vg00 and create a larger secondary swap on another volume group where you have ample room.  Set the swap priority to zero (0) on the secondary swap to let it serve as the principal device if it is truly ever used.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Use a current version of Ignite and do:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# /opt/ignite/bin/make_tape_recovery -x inc_entire=vg00 -I -v -a /dev/rmt/0mn&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;When you use the recovery image, select the Advanced Installation mode.       <title>Disk Space Allocation and Re-Allocation</title>

      <description>Dear All: I have a HP N4000 server. I tried to increase the /usr slice but it failed with "not enough physical extents available".  We also need to extend the /stand partition. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I had a look at the Available space, and we have 8GB total of disk space. 3.5 GB of that is being used swap/dump.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;a) How do we take space from the swap and re-allocate it to another partition&lt;BR /&gt;b) How do we increase the size of the /stand partition?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;[i know how to increase the /usr, but i have no idea for the above methods]. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks for any support</description>
