Had a problem with ldapsearch 3.3 on hpux 11i

I had the bright idea, why not install a newer ldap client therefore a new ldapsearch command.

So I downloaded and installed the lateset 4.00.2 ldap client from software.hp.com

Now when I run ldapsearch, I get this error output:

ldapsearch: this program requires Netscape Communications Corp.'s LDAP
library version 5.10 or greater; running with
mozilla.org's version 5.00.

I ran a few Google searches and guessed incorrectly that a component of the Netscape LDAP server was required.

I installed the whole thing but still get the error.

I'm stumped. Why did SD/UX let me install the ldap client without a required pre-requisite?

More important, how can I get the LDAP client ldapsearch command to work.

swlist -l fileset | grep -i ldap

# LdapUxClient B.04.00.02 LDAP-UX Client Services
LdapUxClient.ADMIN-RUN B.04.00.02 LDAP-UX Client Administration Tools
LdapUxClient.CORE-RUN B.04.00.02 LDAP Client Core Components
LdapUxClient.LDAP-C-SDK B.04.00.02 Mozilla LDAP SDK libraries and C source
LdapUxClient.LDUX-ENG-A-MAN B.04.00.02 Manual pages for HP-UX / LDAP Integration
LdapUxClient.NATIVELDAP-RUN B.04.00.02 LDAP-UX Client Runtime files
LdapUxClient.PAM-AUTHZ-RUN B.04.00.02 PAM Authorization Core Components
NetscapeDirSvr6.NDS-PERLDAP B.06.21.10.001 Netscape PerLDAP
# NisLdapServer B.04.00.02 The NIS/LDAP Gateway (ypldapd)
NisLdapServer.YPLDAP-SERVER B.04.00.02 The NIS/LDAP Gateway
hpuxwsAPACHE.AUTH_LDAP A.2.0.52.00 1.5.4 base
hpuxwsAPACHE.AUTH_LDAP2 A.2.0.52.00 1.5.4 base (PA Binaries)

What do I need to install.

Bunny alert!

SEP
