Hello,

We've got an rp2405, which I'm logging a hardware call for with HP. Normally, I get the system serial number from cstm by selecting the system path and using infolog. This usually works fine, but in this case the System Serial Number isn't correct, it shows as...

USS0000000

Luckily we also have the information in a spreadsheet which does have the correct serial number. My question is, does anyone know how this might have gotten like this?

I have seen it before where system boards have been replaced and the original SN hasn't been programmed into it by the engineer, but in that situation, the field is just blank.

My other question is, does anyone know if it is possible for me to change this, or is it a job for Mr. HP?

Cheers

Thanks for the replies, I thought it might be a job for Mr. HP. Still at a loss as to why the serial number has got changed.

We need to get HP out to possibly replace the GSP card anyway, so I'll ask them to update the SN at the same time. Thanks again for the replies.

Regards - Lee
