Thanks everyone for your input. I believe that I will pick up a manual form David Olker and see if there is anything in there to explain why this happened.

I only logged three of these errors and it happened when my system crashed. I also appologize for not mentioning that I am running on an rp7410 with HP-UX 11.11 Version 1.

Thanks again!

Tim

Tim,
can't find anything in the documentation, however:
1. It's a warning, not an error
2. The number 32768 smells like a blocksize to me.
Hope this helps at least a little bit.

Shalom,

This has to do with block size.

http://www.hp.com/hpbooks/authors/olker.html

Dave Olker is the guru of NFS and explains thinigs in his books.

SEP

Hi,

It looks like the mis-match or in-compatibility of NFS3 protocol between server and client.

Not sure the kind of setup you have whether
unix-windows or unix-unix?

I would check the stats using
nfsstat -m
nfsstat -c
nfsstat -s
mount -v
ping -o <SERVER> -n 3
rpcinfo
nettl

I would verfiy the compatibility , do the upgrade or patching if required.</SERVER>

Hi Tim,

There is nothing in my NFS white papers or book to explain what you're seeing here.

If you still want to pursue this issue I'd be happy to help because I'm a bit curious why this would have happened. You'd probably need to open a new thread so that everyone feels free to post suggestions.

If you only see this warning when the server crashes then that might explain things, but it shouldn't happen under working conditions.

Regards,

Dave
