software install

Hello All,
i was trying to install a glance plus software in my hp system.I have used sam for this.But the problems is ,i 'm able to see Glance Plus software when i use "list software" in sam.But when i select "install software" i do not see glance plus .Is that some thing with code word.please help.

Better use command line "swinstall" as,

# swinstall -s Glance

Hi Mirth,

Glance Plus is licensed software, you have to give code word to install it.

That is a $$ product. You need codeword to see and install it.

If you have codeword for Glance Plus then it will indicate the one CD part #. You follow his squence ,

from sam do swinstall, select the source (CDROM), and when you get to the main menu, choose Actions->Add New CodeWord. Enter your codeword and swinstall will then rescan the source and your product will be visible.

After that install it.

Hi,

Allthough Glance Plus is a licensed software and requires codeword for installing. Still you can check with your local response centre for a trial version installation codeword. It will allow you to use software for few weeks without license.

Hello ,
Actually the media has been purchased with different hp box.Is that Ok if i use it with other hp systems?. Even after i provided the codeword ,i could not see the glance plus software when i launch install from sam.
Any idea?

Actually I don't believe you can install Glance on another server unless you purchased it for all the hp servers you have onsite, if this is apart your Support Agreement or even on your Purchase Order that list all servers and serial numbers then you are supported. If you have enterprise support that includes your entire hp environment then your codeword for Glance should work but otherwise you will have a seperate code word for each server.
