    <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; Your question is not clear.  A program, whether User or System  will dump core by default, if it runs into an execution error. That's why you would see "core" file when a program aborts at runtime.  There is no need to configure it (and as far as i know there is nothing like that).  &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Are you referring to crash dump? I.e when the system hangs and a reboot is needed. Is that what you want to configure??&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-raj</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Two man configuration files:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/etc/rc.config.d/crashconf&lt;BR /&gt;/etc/rc.config.d/savecrash&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;crashconf allows you to configure crash dumps at boot time.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;savecrash allows you to specify the level of saving the crash dump (eg. partial &lt;BR /&gt;saving) etc and saves it.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Their startup scripts are respectively:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/etc/rc1.d/S080crashconf&lt;BR /&gt;/etc/rc1.d/S440savecrash&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hope this helps.
