installing acrobat reader

I downloaded this:
hpux-5011.tar.gz

I suppose GZ means GNU ZIP so I guess I have to download and install that first.

Where can I get that in a desktop runnable form?

I'm not sure what you mean by "desktop runnable form", but gzip is available here:

downloading and installing GNU ZIP makes installations easier.
