    <description>Hi guys,&lt;BR /&gt;I have hpux 11.11&lt;BR /&gt;B5725AA    B.4.3.123      HP-UX Installation Utilities (Ignite-UX)&lt;BR /&gt;Ignite-UX  B.4.2.110      HP-UX System Installation Services&lt;BR /&gt;with ioscan -fnCtape I can locate my tape&lt;BR /&gt;a C5713A ( DAT 40x6 DDS4) with some special files&lt;BR /&gt;when I try to launch&lt;BR /&gt;make_tape_recovery -Av -a /dev/rmt/xxxxn&lt;BR /&gt;I received ERROR:   &lt;BR /&gt;Failed to open tape device /dev/rmt/0mn:No such device or address&lt;BR /&gt;         (errno = 6).&lt;BR /&gt;ERROR:   Check tape device failed.&lt;BR /&gt;the error:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;with ioscan I read these sf:&lt;BR /&gt; /dev/rmt/0m            /dev/rmt/0mnb          /dev/rmt/c2t3d0BESTn   /dev/rmt/c2t3d0DDSb&lt;BR /&gt;                         /dev/rmt/0mb           /dev/rmt/c2t3d0BEST    /dev/rmt/c2t3d0BESTnb  /dev/rmt/c2t3d0DDSn&lt;BR /&gt;                         /dev/rmt/0mn           /dev/rmt/c2t3d0BESTb   /dev/rmt/c2t3d0DDS     /dev/rmt/c2t3d0DDSnb&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I filled just 3 media inside the magazine!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;any suggestions?&lt;BR /&gt;thanks&lt;BR /&gt;LF&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>ahh yes, sorry I did not know the C5713A is/was an autoloader.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You need a script to load a tape in the autoloader before starting the maka_tape_recovery.       <description>The Ignite program (or cpio or tar or fbackup) will not load or change tapes. The changer is a separate device and must be manipulated with the mc command. I have attached a script called loadmedia that that will change tapes. It is just a simple interface to the mc command.</description>
