    <description>Suppose you create a primary swap (on vg00) with a default priority=1 and another device swap on another volume group with a higher priority (i.e 0). Now if you add third device swap on a separate physical disk from either the primary swap or the device one and If you set the priority of the swap device to "0" also , then Interleaving will then occur between the two secondary devices with priority given to them over the primary swap device.</description>

This allows interleaved swapping which means the swap areas are written to concurrently, minimizing disk head movement, thus enhancing performance.</description>

      <description>Yes, it can enhance swap performance, BUT worrying about swap performance (to quote another Forumer) "is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic".  There really isn't any point.  If you are swapping that much then the performance of your machine is going to be so bad that swap interleaving will not help much.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
