    <description>And eventhough you can there is a very good chance that you will break legacy software. I assume that &lt;EIGHT_CHAR_STRING&gt; is an example because underscores (though common in Windows) violate the DNS rules.&lt;/EIGHT_CHAR_STRING&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;I have an nPar-ed rx8620(Integrity) running two n-partitions with 11iv2.&lt;BR /&gt;I want to assign nodenames to the partitions&lt;BR /&gt;with something like this..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;EIGHT_CHAR_STRING&gt;-npar0&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;EIGHT_CHAR_STRING&gt;-npar1&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;There is a  restriction on hostnames to a length of 8 characters,but&lt;BR /&gt;that used to be with 10.20 and previous versions.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Does this still hold?Don't we have the freedom to assign nodenames &amp;gt; 8 characters?&lt;BR /&gt;Can someone help me out?&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks&lt;BR /&gt;Swami&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/EIGHT_CHAR_STRING&gt;&lt;/EIGHT_CHAR_STRING&gt;</description>
