I have two N4000 systems which were originally set up to boot from a network drive. There are no CD readers attached to these systems and for security reasons the drives installed in these servers were washed.
Is there a procedure by which I can boot an install cd remotely exported from another server?
Not directly.

You'll need an ignite server providing the software depots or an golden image.
Have a look at the ignite-ux manual.

Eugene,
have a look at this thread:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=990267

Seems you have to go down the ignite route.
Can you not attach a external CD for installation only, diconnected from any network.

Another alternative would be a standalone CD/DVD drive that you could attach to either of the systems.

Pete

As to the attachement of a external CD, yes I can do that. I was just lazy and thought I might find a magic wand laying around to work with in this case.

I think that attaching the external CD is the least problematic action to take.

Thanks for the pull back to reallity.
