Hi,

First thing you need to do is:

man sar
man sa1

Darrell

Hi,

The sar program is looking for the binary file /usr/adm/sa/saXX, where XX
is the current date of the month. To create this file, do the following:

/usr/lib/sa/sadc /usr/adm/sa/sa`date +%d`

Please see the sa1(1M) man page for more information.

-USA..

Deepak,

Do you mean system accounting? - sar is for system resource monitoring (System Activity Reporter)

For system accounting, look at:

man 1m acct

Rgds, Robin

Hi Deepak,

you probably don't have sar configured on your system. Do "man sar" to see how you can configure sar. Meanwhile to get the sar report for the day, try this,

/usr/lib/sa/sadc /usr/adm/sa/sa`date +%d`

Hope this helps.

Regds
hey,

See the man pages of SAM. the files 'saXX' in /var/adm/sa are the standard system activity daily data files.

System accounting and SAR are totally different.

See this :
http://www.docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B2355-90681/B2355-90681.html

HTH,
Shiju
