Shalom SEP,

Regarding the file system, as I do not have changed none of the default parameters, I guess the setup has reserved sufficient disk space in order to install all the stuff (am I wrong?). Idem regarding the name ; I do not know where it comes from, as I have never been asked to filled it up till those error messages, and it does not match the previous name of this server.

The last point of you answer is very interesting, but how can I check if the DVD is bad? Is it possible to calculate some kind of checksum or verify if the media itself is damaged (no visible scratch on the DVD's surface).

TIA for your answer.

P.S. My name is Stephane, without any "i". I know this a common (unintentional) spelling mistake for people who do not speak French - Sorry if it sounds less "glamour" this way ;-) and thanks again for your answer.

Hi there,

I’m currently trying to install HPUX 11iV2
I’ve selected the default installation, and I get the following error messages:

* Aborting the Install Phase.

======= 07/13/05 13:11:22 EDT END install AGENT SESSION (Aborted)
(pid=155) (jobid=loopback-0001)

ERROR: Software load had one or more errors.
WARNING: Will continue and verify that key filesets have been loaded.
ERROR: Software "LVM.LVM-RUN" was not found on host "loopback:/".
ERROR: Software "LVM.LVM-KRN" was not found on host "loopback:/".
ERROR: Software "JFS.VXFS-BASE-KRN" was not found on host
ERROR: Software "JFS.VXFS-BASE-RUN" was not found on host
WARNING: Because some key filesets were found to be missing, you must now retry
the software load process to load them.

======= 07/13/05 13:11:23 EDT The operating system software has not been
successfully loaded. The swinstall(1M) application was not completed
or failed to load some key files. (exit status was = 1).

It’s the first time I install the 11iV2, but never get such critical error messages with previous versions.

Any help will be greatly appreciated – TIA
Stéphane.

Shalom Stephanie,

I would check my filesystem setup. It would appear that you may not have allocated enough space.

Also loopback may not be a legal hostname. Maybe try some other hostname.

I'm also wondering if you have bad media.

SEP

the hostname loopback is standard on the first install if there's no lan interface configured (did that three weeks ago).

sorry I can't help on the VXFS problem - it should of course be on Your install and recovery media (cd 1 and 2 or dvd 1)

It seems that my problem comes from the DVD itself. I have tried to reinstall the OS a second time and an I have experienced issues on other packages, in addition of those mentioned above. Thanks all for your answers.
