Hi Greg,

Yes it will...BUT...only in 32-bit mode.
D/K/R-class system models must end in 70/80/90 to run 64-bit OS.
Now as to whether that old D will be supported is another matter as it's way past it's lifetime. But a big old fat check can work miracles ;~)

Rgds,
Jeff

Does anyone know if HP-UX 11i v1 will install on the D-Class Server Model D250? I've looked in the 11i v1 Supported Servers Documentation but alas I don't see it there.

Shalom,

The D class box is past its support life for most of the hardware the end of 2005 or 2006, depending on the model.

Of course they are built like miltary vehicles and can run 11i v1 very well for a long time.

Sadly 11i v1 is the last OS that hardware will run as 11i v2 has no 32 bit mode.

Have fun.

SEP

I have a whole bunch of D-class (mostly 270 and 370 series) in a testlab.

They run well and cleanly. The only issue is the whole DVD-ROM / CD-ROM thing. Most of my systems don't have DVD-ROMs, so, alas, I was stuck installing Sept 2004 as the last version and QPK'ing them.

I did find that firmware updates were pretty important though.

Ironically, I've had more issue installing 10.20 on the D's than 11.11.

@ Don: an external DVD or a depot server could be your solution. Just copy the depots to one server and install the updates to others from there. You can install a system from scratch the same way. BTW, I have all 11i v1 releases on DVD and 5 CD set, even march 06. It should be possible for you to order it.
