I have a C3600 workstation and it is connected to a A1295A monitor. There are two graphic dipslay card and the monitor is connected in one. This system once had two monitor and now we only have one. The system boot and you can see it on the scree but when it start the CDE then the screen goes blank. We are using not the orginal keyboard and mouse but a serial HP mouse and a USB compaq keyboard. Anyway if you someone have any insight on why this workstation would be having an issue please let me know.

Ray,

At a guess, you have put the monitor into the remote "dark site" console card, rather than the normal display card. try puuting it into the other card and see if anything happens. Are you using susi linux, by any chance?

The mouse and keyboard should work, once the monitor is in place.

JASH

First I would connect the monitor to the second card to try to get the screen.

Then go to SAM -> display -> Xserver and adjust/delete the second screen (e.g. if there are 0.0 and 0.1, delete the 0.1 entry or adjust the "multi screen layout").
The system is not on the network so trying to display the graphinfo might be difficult.

I will have to type what they have if it's not a lot of info. What's puizzling me is the monitor use to work but there was two and it's connected into the same card as it is now. Is it possible the system is looking for both monitor to be plug in?

When I run the setmon I get the following:

Entry Wdth Height HZ Font Desc
--- ---- ------ ---- ------- ------
1 1280 1024 75 10x20 VESA
2 1024 768 75 8x6 VESA
3 1600 1200 75 10x20 VESA
4 1600 1024 75 10x20
The current one selected is 3

Not sure if this is right....

The file is not present under: /opt/graphics/common/bin/graphinfo.
Anyway what else am I missing... Should I re-install the OS? I just like to get it working so I'm desperate...

I read an HP doc on "HP Visualize Workstation Model B1000, C3000 & C3600 - Technical Specifications."

For the mouse and keyboard it stated the following:

Keyboard:

- Universal Serial Bus (USB) keyboard, one

Mouse:

- Universal Serial Bus (USB) mouse, one

So I have a USB keyboard and I had to get a USB Sun mouse. The system is still not recognize the mouse so is there a way to connect?
