swlist & sam - dld.sl error - core dump -HPUX 11.11

I have a newly loaded server. I'm pretty sure I have patched it up to current standards. It's an rp2470.

When I try to run swlist or sam, it core dumps with the message: "Can't find path for shared library /usr/lib/dld.sl libobam.1"

I check the /etc/SHLIB_PATH from a similar server that does not create the same error and it's identical to the one that craps out.

The only difference I can see it the permissions on the /lib -> /usr/lib linked file. On the good one, the permissions are lrwxr-x-r-t. On the bad one, the permission are lr-xr-xr-t. (No write for the owner).

I can't see where this would make a difference, and I tried to re-link it to show the "write" for the owner, but it didn't make a difference.

Does any one have an idea about how to fix this or even where to look? The core dump lists PHCO_32761 and SMART_BIND 92453_07 if that helps any.

Check that /etc/nsswitch.conf exists

/sbin/init.d/swagentd start

Checked nsswitch.conf and restarted the swagent daemon. Tried the swlist again - same error (core dump) appeared.

I think I have a bad image. I thnik I'll ignite this little server again... unless anyone else has a different idea.

I saw an error like that with older versions of the OS, on both cases the solution was to reinstall the OS.
I have never seen it with 11.11, strange, I would try the patches offered in the core, even though they might not fix the issue.
I would also tried different release of the OS.

Resolution tactics did not work - I ended up reloading the server. Still am at a loss to determine the cause. I think I will attribute it to gremlins in the server again.
