Configuring APA Software

I have installed the APA software on an Integrity server. The nPar has two Nic's attached to two seperate Cisco 6509 switches. Lan1 has a static ip of 10.69.21.132 and lan3 is set at 10.69.21.157. Both lan's are on the same vlan but connected to different switches.

I want to configure lan1 and lan3 as an aggregate and load balance.

Can I configure APA to work when both nic's are attached to a different switch, or do I have to have both nic's connected to the same switch for load balancing to work?

Lan1 and Lan3 will be configured under lan900 as an aggregate using load balance. I also would like to have the redundancy of two switches in case of a single switch failure.

Do I configure the ports on the Cisco 6509 switches to PaGP (desirable) and configure the APA software to FEC_Auto to make this work?

Thanks.

yes, for availability, separate switches, at least blades should be used.

http://docs.hp.com/en/netcom.html#Auto%20Port%20Aggregation%20%28APA%29
