    <description>Hi All,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;have anyone seen this message before.&lt;BR /&gt;i've setup and used sudo for my test and production for 2 years now.&lt;BR /&gt;suddenly, on my test server (HP-UX 11.11)&lt;BR /&gt;the sudo does not work anymore. tried to compare with my production but could not figure it out what was wrong?&lt;BR /&gt;the sudoers permission is correct, compared with production. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;this was the error&lt;BR /&gt;$sudo cancel hp5000-862&lt;BR /&gt;sudo: must be setuid root&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;thank in advance for your help.&lt;BR /&gt;Tom&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi tom,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;can you verify your $PATH?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you have '.' in your $PATH before the directory containing sudo, this problem can also arise..  &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;please check&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;kind regards&lt;BR /&gt;yogeeraj</description>

      <description>Can you list the permissions on sudo?&lt;BR /&gt;It probably should look something like this:&lt;BR /&gt;-rwsr-xr-x  root       bin</description>

      <description>&lt;BR /&gt;Thank you Dennis and Yogeerai,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;the permission was -rwxr-xr-x on&lt;BR /&gt;/usr/local/bin/sudo&lt;BR /&gt;changed it to&lt;BR /&gt;-rwsr-xr-x root bin&lt;BR /&gt;and it works &lt;BR /&gt;on my production the permission is&lt;BR /&gt;---s--x--x on /usr/local/bin/sudo&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks again for your help.&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;Tom</description>

      <description>---s--x--x is probably fine for real paranoid admins.  :-)&lt;BR /&gt;But there is no reason not to let root read it.</description>
